A Resource Guide for Aging Adventurers: Unusual and Sometimes Inexpensive Opportunities for Volunteering, Learning, Traveling and Adventure

By Emily Kimball

Interested in low-cost travel? A Resource Guide for Aging Adventurers provides information about home stays, travel clubs, home exchanges, caretaking others' exotic properties, traveling as a courier, working on a cruise ship or in a national park. Like to do volunteer work? Learn about the American Hiking Society's directory of voluntary positions on public land, or dive into the "Archeological Opportunities Bulletin," which lists archeological sites all over the world that accept volunteers

This 14 page resource guide provides 55 well researched resources for aging adventurers that will stimulate your thinking about the possibilities available to you in your later years - locally, nationally and overseas. In addition to including e-mail addresses, web sites, phone numbers and brief descriptions of each listing, it provides a bibliography of other helpful books.

Since my retirement ten years ago I have been ferreting out affordable ways to continue to pursue my passions of travel and adventure. It is with great joy that I share my research with the public through the publication of this guide.
